goal
How to remove a server from a Cluster
Removing Novell Clustering Services from a single server in a cluster
fact
Novell NetWare 6.0
Novell NetWare 6.5
Novell NetWare Cluster Services
Novell NetWare 5.1
fix
Modify your Cluster resources so that they are appropriate for the new configuration
Type CLUSTER LEAVE on the node to remove
Type ULDNCS on the node to remove
Delete the Cluster Object (the one that represents the Cluster Node).
Remove the LDNCS.NCF file from the AUTOEXEC.NCF
Remove the NWCS modules from SYS:SYSTEM
CLSTRLIB.NLM
GIPC.NLM
SBD.NLM
SBDLIB.NLM
CRM.NLM
CMA.NLM
TRUSTMIG.NLM
CMON.NLM
LDNCS.NCF
ULDNCS.NCF
_LDNCS.NCF
_ULDNCS.NCF
VLL.NLM
TRUSTOOL.NLM
Remove the server's connection to the shared storage
Reboot the server
note
Note: this will not remove the deleted node from being listed in the CMON Clustering Monitor utility on the other nodes. To do that you have to do Cluster Down on any running node, when finished then do ULDNCS on every node. There is no urgency to do this as it being listed there wil cause no harm. When ULDNCS is finished on every node you can do LDNCS on any node to start the cluster up again.
