goal

How does Delay Delivery work in GroupWise?

fix

Delay Delivery used when user needs to specify how many days after the current day to deliver a mail item.

After user clicks Send and the Properties of the message has Delay Delivery specified what happens?

Scenario 1:  User A in Post Office A sends to User B in Post Office A
The sending user's user and message databases are updated and the NGWDFR.DB is updated and a file is created in the OFFILES directory.  When the day of delivery is reached the recipient will see the message.

Scenario 2:  User A in Post Office A sends to User B in Post Office B
1.)  User A creates a new message to be sent to User B, he goes into properties and checks Delay Delivery and specifies how many days and the hour it is sent.
2.)  On the backend the message database that User A belongs to is updated, the user database is updated,  the NGWDFR.DB is updated with a new record for this message, a file that contains the conditions of the delivery is created in OFFILES directory, a message is created that is sent to the recipients post office, the same message database that is used by User A is updated in User B's post office, and a file is created in the OFFILES directory of PO B.

Properties of the message that was marked with Delayed Delivery (from the Senders Sent Items) will show Pending because it is a pending message.
