goal
How to create the nlslsp object and reinstall licenses
fact
Novell NetWare 5
Novell NetWare 5.1
symptom
Unable to delete license objects after deleting NLSLSP object
Cannot delete license objects
Cannot reinstall licenses
There is no nlslsp object
NLSLSP object has been deleted
cause
If you delete the NLSLSP object, you will not be able to delete the license objects in NWadmin, and they will appear as unknown objects with the yellow circle and question mark . They will go unknown. You will not then be able to delete the license objects in Nwadmin.
fix
The license objects can be deleted in DSrepair on a 5.1 server which holds a replica of the license' partition (the partition/replica where the license resides.
1. Load dsrepair with the -A switch. Choose advanced options | replica and partition operations.
2. Choose the replica (probably Root) that contains the license objects, and choose "delete unknown leaf objects". Obviously , this will have to be done on a server that holds a replica of the container where the license objects reside.
3. Re-install the NLSLSP object IF it has been deleted. Load NWconfig and choose license options | create License Service Provider.
4. You can now reinstall the license objects in NWconfig. Choose license options | install licenses.
**NOTE** If you do Not delete the NLSLSP object first, you should be able to delete the license objects in nwadmin, and then reinstall them in nwconfig as in the above. You need to use ALL of the steps in the above fix , ONLY if the NLSLSP object has been deleted.
