symptom

The Mail Merge feature in Microsoft Word 97 and 2000 does not allow an ODMA open file call when referencing the database file.

cause

This feature is not built into Microsoft Word.

fix

This issue will need to be addressed by Microsoft.  

Steps to duplicate:
1. In Microsoft Word, select Tools|Mail Merge.
2. Under Main Document, choose the type of document.
3. Under Data Source there should be an option to open a GroupWise Document but there is not.
