NOTE*******:  THESE DIRECTIONS ARE NOT APPLICABLE FOR NDS EDIRECTORY 8.5.  SEE SOLUTION TID #10057888 - Forcing NDS Edirectory 8.5 off of Solaris/Linux  for more information about removing eDirectory 8.5 off Linux.********

The following steps will completely remove EDirectory or Corporate Edition on Linux -- this information is taken from the eDirectory Administration Guide, available on the product CDROM or at http://www.novell.com/documentation. Some steps may not be necessary, depending on which components have been installed.

1. Login to the server with superuser access

2. Stop all of the NDS daemons by running
        /etc/rc.d/init.d/ndsd stop

3.  Remove the product packages:
rpm -e NDSserv                (if you have installed the NDS Server)
rpm -e NDSuam                (if you have installed the NDS UAM)
        rpm -e NDSbase
        rpm -e NDSnici
        rpm -e NDSslp

4.  Remove the following files from the Linux host using the rm command:
        rm -f /etc/nds.conf
        rm -f /et/ndscfg.inp
        rm -f /etc/rc.d/init.d/nds*
        rm -f /etc/rc.d/init.d/slpuasa
        rm -f /usr/sbin/nds-uninstall
        rm -f /etc/rc.d/init.d/nldap
        rm -f /usr/bin/nds*
        rm -f /usr/sbin/nds*

5.  Remove the following directories from the Linux host using the rm command:
        rm -rf /var/nds
        rm -rf /var/ndsuam
        rm -rf /var/n4u
        rm -rf /usr/lib/nds

6.  Using NDS Manager, delete the NDS Server object from the NDS tree.

These steps will completely remove both the NDS Server and UAM portions of NDS Corporate Edition from the server.  If user accounts were not reverse migrated, and if they were deleted off the Linux FILES or NIS system during the original migration, all users will need to be created again.  Otherwise, the system will now be setup as it was prior to the installation of NDS.
