How to change the Internal IPX (Server ID) number during an install
fix
In NetWare 5.0 when you get to the summary screen (after you've selected the products you want installed), click the Customize button. In the following screen highlight the NetWare Operating System option on the left side of the screen and click the Properties button. This will take you to the Server Properties tab where there will be a Server ID Number field. The Internal IPX number is the same as the Server ID Number. Enter the desired Internal IPX number in the field and this will be the number placed in the AUTOEXEC.NCF. For example, if 4D8FB71 is entered then you would see "SERVERID 4D8FB71" in the AUTOEXEC.NCF.
In NetWare 5.1 the Server ID Number is changed at the beginning of the GUI portion of the install. The first screen of the GUI is the Server Properties screen where the server name is entered. From this screen click on the Advanced button, and then go to the Server Properties tab; on this tab there is a Server ID Number field where the Internal IPX number can be entered. As in NetWare 5.0, this number will be placed in the AUTOEXEC.NCF.
