NWAdmin crashes when exiting.

NWAdmin gets GPF or GPPE when closing.

Below are a few things you can try to resolve NWAdmin crashes when exiting:

1. If you are using NWADMN95.EXE or NWADMNNT.EXE, try using the latest NWADMN32.EXE. You can get this by going to the download site and look for the ZENWorks starter pack. By choosing to install ZENWorks, you can then uncheck all the ZEN components and just install NWADMIN32. Novell recommends that you use this version of NetWare Administrator as this is the version that current products' snapins are being developed for.

2. Run NWADMN32.EXE from a different server. NWAdmin (or some of it's snapins) may have become corrupt on the server that you are running it from. If you can run it from a different server successfully, try copying the WIN32 directory from the working server to the non-working server (make sure you rename the original directory first).

3. Try launching NWADMN32.EXE from a different workstation. To make this a valid troubleshooting step you should consider using a different OS (NT vs. 9x).

4. If it only crashes occasionally, narrow down the product whose snapin may be corrupt. For example, if anytime you run NWAdmin and then create, modify, or even look at the details of a NAL object... then the program crashes when you exit... then look at the possibility of a corrupted NAL snapin. Use the Knowledgebase to determine what the snapins are for that particular product and recopy them from the product CD or a working server.

5. Other good troubleshooting steps:
    ...Uninstall the virus protection on your workstation
    ...Update the winsock modules for your OS
    ...Always use the latest version of NWAdmin
