symptom

Error: "NALntsrv.exe ordinal not found ordinal 426 cannot be found in dynamic link library ncpwin32.dll."

Error: "Ordinal 425 not found in NCPWin32.dll"

Error occurred when installing the NT411F4 patch on an an NT 4.0 workstation running the IntranetWare Client for Windows NT version 4.10.

Error: "Winlogon.exe: The ordinal 425 could not be found in NCPWIN32.DLL."

cause

This error occurs when the patch is applied to the wrong client. NT411F4 is a patch written specifically for the 4.11a version of the NT client.

This could also be caused by a mixture of old client files and new ones on the same machine.

fix

Logon to the NT workstation only, using the Emergency Recovery Disk created when NT was installed. In Control Panel, Network, Services, remove the client. Reinstall the client, then reinstall the patch. Install the patch using UPDATE.CMD, which is included in the patch.
