Error: "A scheduled "Work To Do" took over one minute to be run".

Restore operation receives error

Console locks up for 5 or 10 minutes

cause

This problem occurs when a process takes more than one minute on the processor creating a bottleneck problem.  This error can also be accompanied by CPU HOG Timeout abends.  Any NLM that takes over control of the processor and will not relinquish it can cause this type of problem.  When dealing specifically with backups, many problems stem from the disk channel itself.

fix

Check the disk/tape channel (drivers, BIOS revisions, cables, and hardware).
