fix

When you issue the NSS HELP command at the server console, several pages of NSS command-line parameters are displayed, one page at a time.  After the first page has been displayed, it will pause and wait for you to touch a key.  You can advance to the next page by pressing the space bar; to the next line by pressing <Enter>, or you can terminate the display by pressing <ESC>.  The parameters vary with  NSS and OS versions.  The command-line options must be preceded with a forward slash (/).  They are NOT case sensitive, and you only need to type enough of the option to make it unique among all of the other parameters.

For example, to activate a pool named DATA, type one of the following:
NSS /PoolActivate=DATA
nss /poolactivate=data
nss /poolact=data

If you need to define nss parameters at boot time (in NetWare 6.x only):

server -z"parameter you want" , eg:

server -z"/namecachesize=xxxxx"
server -z"/namecachesize=xxx /cachebalance=yy /numbonds=zzzzz"

OR

you may alternatively create a text file c:\nwserver\nssstart.cfg and put the needed parameters into it as follows:

/namecachesize=xxx
/cachebalance=yy
/numbonds=zzzzz

Please be aware that the forward slash (/) is required, and if you misspell any of the paramters, the server will not come up successfully, and none of the NSS commands will work.
