BTRIEVE Error 20 with BorderManager and TCPIP

symptom

When loading BorderManager and a Third Party Proprietary Application (Bank Teller), which is designed to utilize BTRIEVE.NLM we receive an error.

Error: "Error 20. Record Manager Inactive"

Note: when using the "BINDERY.EXE" utility It is learned that when we have this problem the Btrieve SAP Server entry is not storing the correct internal server address. With a delay statement the Btrieve SAP Server entry is the correct internal server address.

fix

The only solution around this issue is to issue a Delay of 10 seconds when loading the TCPIP and BorderManager.  This should provide sufficient time for the Btrieve to react.  This is a timing issue which seems to be only affected with the Proprietary application ( Bank teller) that you are running inconjunction with the BorderManager and TCPIP while using Btrieve 6.10f.
