symptom

GWCheck Error: Error reading header info for the specified object.

GWCheck Error: Error 26 db rebuild error 8209.

GWCheck Error: Warning no records could be recovered from the database rebuild.

fix

ADDITIONAL C057 INFO:  The C057 error is designed to notify the GroupWise user or administrator that there is a database maintenance function in progress.

symptom

C057 error while launching GroupWise client.

fix

Users should exit the client and wait until later to attempt entering GroupWise again in order to let the database maintenance function complete.

symptom

CO57 error while launching GroupWise client

fact

No database maintenance is being performed

cause

Another program may already have the required file open with exclusive access

fix

Check File Open/Lock activity to determine what process is keeping the file locked.  End the process. If an option, you might want to bounce the server to release the file.

symptom

C057 occurs constantly on the POA in verbose mode

cause

A damaged message file is blocking the processing of the database maintenance function

fix

Check the \WPCSOUT\OFS directory for message files.  Move all files to a temp directory until the damaged message file is removed.  Then place messages back in respective directories until offending message is located.

cause

Database(s) are not getting fixed by the POA GWCheck, therefore the process is being spawned multiple time.

fix

1.  Exit the POA.
2.  Rename the <postoffice>\WPCSOUT directory.
3.  Do standalone GWCheck, Structural rebuild and load the POA.
