GroupWise Archive FID Editor
fix
Move user will not work over an external system. There is a workaround to this scenario.
How to use the GroupWise Archive FID Editor:
1. Log into the source post office as the user.
2. Archive all mail, appointment, task, notes, ect... that the user wants to keep.
3. Create new user on second system.
4. Write down new fid for new user.
5. Write down context for destination domain.
6. Download GWAFE510.EXE from SUPPORT.NOVELL.COM.
7. Extract file to a directory on the destination server.
8. Log into Workstation as ADMIN user.
9. Run GW5AFE.EXE with following syntax to change FID of archive to new users ID:
GW5AFE <Path To Archive> <New FID> <DomainObject.ContextOfDomain>
(Example: A request to change the FID from "XYZ" to "ABC" in Archive "\\CORP-SRV\MAIL\ARCHIVE\OFXYZARC" with a Domain database context of "GroupWise.GW_Dom" would be entered as follows:
GW5AFE \\corp-srv\mail\archive\ofxyzarc abc .GW_Dom.GroupWise
10. Log into new users mailbox.
11. After you change the FID in user.db, you also need to rename the archive
folder to the new FID. For example if you had mailbox: of7p9arc
You changed FID in user.db to 8cl then you rename the folder so: of7p9arc gets renamed to of78clarc
12. Point the archive path to converted archive directory.
13. Open archive and unarchive mail into new mail box.
