Novell NetWare Administrator
Microsoft Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000
Secondary domain on a server at remote location.
Installed GroupWise and created a primary and a secondary domain.
symptom
GroupWise objects in NetWare Administrator show up as question marks.
Unable to run NetWare Administrator from secondary GroupWise domain server.
Users at secondary domain location unable to administer GroupWise through NetWare Administrator.
GroupWise options under the Tools menu are not available in NetWare Administrator.
cause
GroupWise Snapins (GWADMA32.DLL) not installed on the secondary domain server.
fix
From the GroupWise CD, run INSTALL.EXE.
Select a drive that is mapped to the secondary domain server's SYS volume.
When you reach the "Select Software" screen (asking which software components to install), select only. "GroupWise Administrator," then click "Next" and then "Install." That will install the required GroupWise Snapin dll files to the secondary domain server and setup that workstation to run NetWare Administrator.
Alternatively, if a workstation has been able to run NWAdmin with the GroupWise snapins in the past, files can be copied from "Software Distribution Directory | Admin | Public" to "Public | Win32" or the corresponding sub-folders to update the snapins.
Make sure all servers delivering NWAdmin have the same versions of the snapins. Confirm version information in NWAdmin by checking "Tools | GroupWise Utilities | About GroupWise Administrator | Version Information."
