1.1.113 Driver Loopback Error Detected

Symptom

Netware 3.12 with a ethernet card reported the following error:
1.1.113 lan driver loopback error detected. Driver for network xxxxxxxx received it's own send packet.

Troubleshooting

Case 1: Swapped out the LAN card and it was fine.
    Checked for a malfunctioning network device. Found that when a CSU/DSU was turned off, the errors went away.
Case 2: Unplugged the server patch cable and the server came up without any errors.
    When the 3rd party router was unplugged the errors did not occur.

Case 1: Malfunctioning CSU DSU
Case 2: Malfunctioning 3rd party router

Solutions

Replace or repair 3rd party hardware device.
