abstract

NetWare iPrint server NLM updates.  This iprntnw65sp8e patch set differs from the previous iprntnw65sp8d patch set in that it has an updated IPPSRVR.NLM and iprint.js to introduce support for Mac 10.8 (Mountain Lion).

details

The iPrint NetWare 6.5 Support Pack Post patch revision E has been released to introduce Mac 10.8 support. If the previous patch set (iprntnw65sp8d) has already been applied to the server, follow the second set of installation steps.

See TID 7005740 to understand how to obtain the increased compatibility with the HP Universal Print Drivers used with Printer Driver Profiles.

This download includes the following NetWare iPrint NLMs:
IPPSRVR.NLM - 13AUG2012
NDPSGW.NLM - 02MAR2010
NDPSM.NLM - 18MAY2010
RMANSRVR.NLM - 02MAR2010
DPLSV386.NLM - 16APR2010
LPR2NDPS - 16APR2010
SYSTEM\NLS\4\NDPSM.MSG
APACHE2\HTDOCS\IPPDOCS\SCRIPTS\IPRINT.JS

Below lists two different installation instructions.
Instruction Set A: Instructions if the server has not received the iprntnw65sp8d patch set:

  1. Unload the Print Manager.
    • unload ndpsm
  2. Unload the Broker.
    • unload broker
  3. Unload Apache.
    • ap2webdn
  4. Unload IPPRSRVR.NLM.
    • unload ippsrvr
  5. Unload Tomcat
    • tc5stop
  6. Stop Java
    • java -exit
  7. Make a backup of the current NDPSM.NLM, IPPSRVR.NLM, NDPSGW.NLM, DPLSV386.NLM, LPR2NDPS.NLM, and RMANSRVR.NLM in the server's SYS:\SYSTEM directory.
  8. Copy the updated NDPSM.NLM, IPPSRVR.NLM, NDPSGW.NLM, DPLSV386.NLM, LPR2NDPS.NLM, and RMANSRVR.NLM to the server's SYS:\SYSTEM directory.
  9. Make a backup of the current NDPSM.MSG file in the server's SYS:\SYSTEM\nls\4\ directory.
  10. Copy the updated NDPSM.MSG to the server's SYS:\SYSTEM\nls\4\ directory.
  11. Load Apache
    • ap2webup
  12. Start Java
    • java
  13. Load Tomcat
    • tomcat5
  14. Load the Broker (BROKER), using the same command line switches that have been used prior to the update.
  15. Load the Print Manager (NDPSM), using the same command line switches that have been used prior to the update.
  16. Copy the apache2\htdocs\ippdocs\ updated directory to the NDPSM server's sys:\apache2\htdocs\ directory.
    • This step will add an updated iprint.js file and create a new iPrint Client for Mac directory.
    • Important Note for Mac 10.8 Support: If you anticipate end users to click the client install link from the /ipp page from a Mac 10.8 or later (Mountain Lion or later) to install the appropriate iPrint Client for Mac, replace the iprint.dmg in the sys:\apache2\htdocs\clients\mac directory with a version of the iPrint Client for Mac version 5.70 or later.  The default iprint.dmg in the mac directory is intended for Mac 10.6 and older.  See TID 7010579 for more detail.
Instruction Set B: Instructions if the server has already received the iprntnw65sp8d patch set.
  1. Unload Apache.
    • ap2webdn
  2. Unload IPPRSRVR.NLM.

  4. Copy the updated IPPSRVR.NLM to the server's SYS:\SYSTEM directory.
  5. Load Apache
    • ap2webup
