This ZENworks 10 Configuration Management update contains a file which allows a server that does not have Internet connectivity, and is running version ZCM 10.2, 10.2.1, or 10.2.2, to be upgraded to ZCM 10.3.0a
details
Overview:
This update contains a zip file which can be used as part of the System Update process to upgrade ZCM 10.2, 10.2.1 or 10.2.2, if the ZCM server does not have access to the Internet. This is described in the section Manually Importing Updates to Servers without Internet Connectivity of the ZENworks 10 Configuration Management System Administration Reference.
Using the file in this update bypasses obtaining the update from the Novell Customer Center, it does not deploy the update for you.
If you want to install ZCM 10.3 onto a new server, obtain the ZCM 10.3 ISO file from http://download.novell.com using the keyword ZENworks10_SP3.iso
System Requirements:
This update is only applicable to servers from ZCM 10.2 onwards. You cannot upgrade servers from ZCM 10.1.3 or earlier versions with this update. Workstations to be upgraded must have the agent version 10.2 or later installed. See TID 7005455 "ZENworks 10 Configuration Management 10.3 - update information and list of fixes" for information about what this update requires, and what it includes.
Installation:
1. Copy the zip file to one of the ZENworks servers in the zone (a location on the server where the ZENworks user has rights). Do not unzip the file.
a. For example, on Linux, copy the zip file to /opt/novell/zenworks/
b. For example on Windows, copy the zip file to %ZENWORKS_HOME%
2. From a command prompt on the Windows or Linux ZENworks server where you copied the zip file in step 1, run the command:
zman sui [path to zip file] (for details, run zman sui --help):
a. Example on Windows:
zman sui "C:\Program Files\Novell\ZENworks\ZENworks10_SP3_SystemUpdate_A.zip"
b. Example on Linux:
zman sui /opt/novell/zenworks/ZENworks10_SP3_SystemUpdate_A.zip
3. The zman sui command should successfully report: "The update(s) contained in "[path to file]"ZENworks10_SP3_SystemUpdate_A.zip will begin importing shortly. You may use ZCC to track the status of your import"
4. Follow the System Update steps in the on-line documentation to complete the deployment of the update to ZCM 10.3
Known Problems and Limitations:
This re-release has been made available, so that applying this update to a system will not cause the issues shown in TID 7005581.
