Technical Support Information:
Current Fixes:
- Change to the default Reset Password feature
Current Behavior
----------------
The driver supports a 2-phase persistent password provisioning for SAP Users. The first phase
of this process involves resetting the password to a known "reset" value so that the second phase can set the persistent password. This mode of setting a persistent password is known as "USER_SET" mode.
The first phase password in the USER_SET mode utilizes a Subscriber channel configuration parameter identified as "nsap-default-password". When USER_SET mode is selected, this is a mandatory configuration value and the driver will NOT start unless a value is present. The value is stored as a named password in the driver configuration and it is utilized for ALL password set operations for ALL users.
New Behavior
------------
Version 3.6.2 of the driver CAN still operate as stated above IF the "nsap-default-password" contains a value.
If the "nsap-default-password" parameter is removed from the driver configuration or is set to an empty string value, the driver will recognize this as a valid configuration and will allow the driver to start. This is also seen as a command to generate a random "reset" value during the first phase of a "USER_SET" persistent password set operation. When this code is activated the message "Generating temporary reset password" will be seen in the level-5 trace on all USER_SET password operations for
All future releases of the Driver Configuration for the SAPUM driver will NOT contain the "nsap-default-password" Subscriber parameter. From 3.6.2 onward the use of "nsap-default-password" will be considered deprecated and support may be removed at any time.
- Resolved issue where SAP HR and SAP User driver running on same server had conflict when using JCO3.
