abstract

Patch update for the Novell Identity Manager SAP Portal driver. This will take the driver version to 3.6.2. You must have IDM 3.6.1 or later to use this driver. There are no bug fixes in this patch, only some enhancements.

Overview: IDM 3.6.1 SAP Portal Driver Patch 1

System Requirements: IDM 3.6.1 and the SAP Portal Driver from that version.

Installation:

Installation of driver patch:

Windows:
1. Stop all drivers.

2. Export a copy of your existing SAP Portal driver configuration.

3. Delete the existing SAP Portal Driver configuration and import the latest version supplied in the patch.

4. Add back all customization after importing the new configuration.

5. Copy the patched jar file to \novell\nds\lib. If using the remote loader copy the patched jar file to \remoteloader\lib

6. Cycle IDM (to do this, restart eDirectory) and or the remote loader service
NOTE: If you are running the driver locally and more than one driver exists, you must stop all the drivers before cycling eDirectory.

7. Start the driver(s)

Linux
As root:
1. Stop all drivers.

2. Export a copy of your existing SAP Portal driver configuration.

3. Delete the existing SAP Portal Driver configuration and import the latest version supplied in the patch.

4. Add back all customization after importing the new configuration.

5. Stop ndsd.
/etc/init.d/ndsd stop

6. Install the new rpm
rpm -U (image-path)/linux/novell-DXMLsappt.rpm

7. Start ndsd.
/etc/init.d/ndsd start

8. Start the driver(s)

AIX
As root:
1. Stop all drivers.

2. Export a copy of your existing SAP Portal driver configuration.

3. Delete the existing SAP Portal Driver configuration and import the latest version supplied in the patch.

4. Add back all customization after importing the new configuration.

5. Stop ndsd.
/etc/ndsd stop

6. Install the packages.
rpm -U (image-path)/aix/novell-DXMLsappt.rpm

7. Start ndsd.
/etc/ndsd start

8. Start the drivers.

Solaris
As root:
1. Stop all drivers.

2. Export a copy of your existing SAP Portal driver configuration.

3. Delete the existing SAP Portal Driver configuration and import the latest version supplied in the patch.

4. Add back all customization after importing the new configuration.

5. Stop ndsd
/etc/init.d/ndsd stop

6. Uninstall the old package
pkgrm DXMLsappt

7. Install the new package
pkgadd -d (image-path)/solaris/DXMLsappt.pkg DXMLsappt

8. Start ndsd.
/etc/init.d/ndsd start

9. Start the drivers.

NOTE: If you want to keep all existing associations for this driver. You can delete all objects under the driver object and then import the updated configuration file over the top of the existing driver object. Once that is complete you can add back your customization.

Enhancements:

- This version of the SAP Portal driver uses lib-AJC to generate a random password for the default reset password (the driver configuration option for reset password has been removed.)

- Added process logging to the driver. A new GVC setting enables logging of channel data to a time stamped log file.
