The Novell Audit 64 bit Platform Agent for Windows is used for sending events from 64-bit Novell Instrumentations running on Windows 2003 or 2008, to Sentinel, SentinenlRD, SLM, and Novell Identity Audit using the legacy Novell Audit Platform Agent design.

Overview:

This patch is intended for a 64-bit architecture running on Windows 2003 or 2008 only.

This download includes the 64bit Platform agent component only. Individual product instrumentations are not included in this patch and should be downloaded/installed through the individual products.

It is also important to note that this patch does NOT include the Secure Logging Server component. The Secure Logging Server component is end of life with the replacement being Sentinel, SentinelRD, SLM, or Novell Identity Audit.

Installation:

Simply execute the .exe file and follow the setup wizard.

Technical Support Information:

The Platform Agent is only supported when connecting to Novell Sentinel or Novell Identity Audit. Although this platform agent may work properly with legacy Novell Audit, it is not a supported configuration.

Known Limitations:

Uninstalling the Platform Agent on a Windows System Does Not Back Up the logevent.cfg File:

After you uninstall the Platform Agent on a Linux machine, the /etc/logevent.conf file is backed up as /etc/logevent.conf.rpmsave.
On a Windows machine, there is no such mechanism to back up the logevent.cfg file after uninstalling the Platform Agent.

Cosmetic Issues in the Logevent.conf File on a Windows 64-Bit System:

Setting the LogCacheLimitAction parameter to roll cache moves the LCache file to the backup directory.
