If you wish to install the Hot Patch without using the CPKs please see TID 3484245 "Updates to Novell ZENworks 7 Desktop Management"

System Requirements:
The CPKs for NetWare and Windows require ZENworks 7 Desktop Management Support Pack 1, and for Linux, ZDML7SP1IR4, ZDML7SP1IR4a, or ZDML7SP1IR4aHP1: for other system requirements, see the ZENworks 7 Desktop Management Documentation

Installation:
if you do not use ZENworks Server Management, see TID 3764189 "Using the Standalone Package Processor to install ZDM7 CPKs". If you do use ZENworks Server Management, for instructions on using ZENworks Server Software Packages (CPKs), see ZENworks 7 Server Management Documentation

ConsoleOne snap-ins - ZDM7-C1SNAPINS-SP1IR4HP2.cpk
This CPK updates the ConsoleOne Snapins to ZDM7SP1IR4HP2 and requires the variable name:
DEST_C1 to indicate the directory where the snapins are to be copied, and will always end with 1.2, for example sys:\public\mgmt\consoleone\1.2

Netware server - ZDM7-BACK-NW-SP1IR4HP2.cpk
This CPK updates Backend services running on NetWare to ZDM7SP1IR4HP2 and requires the variable names:
DEST_WOL to indicate the volume where Wake On Lan is installed, for example sys:\
DEST_XML to indicate the volume where XML is installed, for example sys:\
DEST_INV to indicate the volume where Inventory is installed, for example sys:\
Please note: This release of ZDM includes an updated imaging kernel, which requires a new format for settings.txt.
The CPK will copy a new file ZDM7SP1IR4HP2-settings.txt to sys:tftp\boot and sys:public\zenworks\imaging - use this file as a template to create new settings.txt files, as PXE will not work without a file in this new format.
In particular, if you are using DHCP, keep netsetup=dhcp, now, all enabled. If you are using a specific IP address, do the following:
1.Comment netsetup=dhcp,now,all
2.Uncomment netsetup=-dhcp,now,all
3.Uncomment and configure the other three IP address lines (HostIP, NETMASK, and GATEWAY)

Windows server - ZDM7-BACK-WIN-SP1IR4HP2.cpk
This CPK updates Backend services running on Windows to ZDM7SP1IR4HP2 and requires the variable names:
DEST_WOL to indicate the drive where Wake On Lan is installed, for example C:\
DEST_XML to indicate the drive where XML is installed, for example C:\
DEST_INV to indicate the drive where Inventory is installed, for example C:\
Please note: This release of ZDM includes an updated imaging kernel, which requires a new format for settings.txt.
The CPK will copy a new file ZDM7SP1IR4HP2-settings.txt to program files\ZEN Preboot services\tftp\Data\boot and novell\public\zenworks\imaging - use this file as a template to create new settings.txt files, as PXE will not work without a file in this new format.

Netware Mid-tier - ZDM7-MID-NW-SP1IR4HP2.cpk
This CPK updates Mid Tier services running on NetWare to ZDM7SP1IR4HP2 and does not require any variable names to be defined

Windows Mid-tier - ZDM7-MID-WIN-SP1IR4HP2.cpk
This CPK updates Mid Tier services running on Windows to ZDM7SP1IR4HP2 and requires the variable name:
DEST_IIS to indicate the drive where IIS is installed, for example c:\

Linux server - ZDM7-BACK-LINUX-SP1IR4HP2.cpk
This CPK updates ZENworks Desktop Management services on Linux to ZDML7SP1IR4HP2 and does not require any variable names to be defined. This version will check to ensure that ZDML7SP1IR4 or higher is already installed - it will refuse to install if the pre-requisite is not met.
When installing this CPK, a log of the process called zdmup.log.[unique number] is created in /usr/tmp/ZSM7l_POLYDIST, you must review this log to determine the success or otherwise of the upgrade.
Please note: This release of ZDM includes an updated imaging kernel, which requires a new format for settings.txt.
The CPK will make a backup copy of /srv/tftp/boot/settings.txt and /opt/novell/zenworks/zdm/imaging/winutils/settings.txt called ZDML7SP1IR4HP2-backup-of-settings.txt in the same directories. Use the information from these backup files to re-personalize the settings.txt file. PXE will not work without a file in this new format.

Note that the CPKs for NetWare and Windows have extra checks to ensure that they will only run on systems with at least ZDM7SP1. If the CPK skips every stage with failed registry requirement, then you may not have the correct registry entry for ZENworks see TIDs 3402203 and 3546801 at Novell Support for details.

Uninstalling:
See the ZENworks documentation at ZENworks 7 Desktop Management Documentation for components of ZENworks that can be uninstalled.
