abstract
Nominating a ZCM 10 server to download an update.
details
Overview:
In ZCC, when the admin schedules the download of an update, the server that does the actual download is randomly selected. By modifying the settings.xml and using the new system-update.jar and system-update-datamodel.jar found at Unable to clear a system update through ZCC, an admin can select which server is going to be downloading the update. This will alleviate problems where only one server in the zone has access to the internet.
System Requirements:
ZCM 10 Linux Server or Windows Server.
Installation:
On a windows 2003 server, run Services.msc and shut down Novell Zenworks Services Monitor, Novell Zenworks Server, and Novell Zenworks Loader. Then modify the settings.xml file in the %your_install_path%\Novell\ZENworks\conf\loader with the following.
