491psp3_nwgina_4.exe is a patch file for the Novell Client v4.91 SP3 for Windows XP/2003. It includes fixes for problems relating to NWGINA.DLL and related modules, found after the 4.91 SP3 client update was released.

System Requirements:
This patch is designed to update the Novell Client v4.91 SP3 for Windows XP/2003. Be sure to install only on this version of the client. You should have already installed the 491psp3_pka.zip patch kit before installing this patch.
Installation:
1. (Optional) Rename the existing nwgina.dll and novnpnt.dll in the
2. Install the files by doing ONE of the following:
a) Run the supplied .bat file.
b) Right-Click on the supplied .inf and click on INSTALL.
c) Manually copy and replace the existing nwgina.dll, nwginar.dll, and novnpnt.dll in directories listed in Step 1, above.
3. You will be prompted to reboot. This reboot is required to complete the installation.
The files in this package can also be overlaid on top of a Novell Client 4.91 SP3 installation set so that when SETUPNW.EXE is run to install the Novell client you will be installing the core 4.91 SP3 client and the updates contained in this package in one operation. To update the installation set with the file in this patch set, copy the directory structure over the top of the i386 folder in your "Novell Client 4.91 SP3" installation.
Known Problems and Limitations:
The language-specific module (nwginar.dll) will return certain message strings in English.

This patch fixes the following issues seen with the 4.91 SP3 code:
Fixes to NOVNPNT.DLL:
1. Microsoft Search is missing files. The problem occurs if: a) the subfolder name contains an umlaut character and, b) the "Look in:" field (MS Search ..) is in NDS notation, e.g. \\TREENAME\.SERVERNAME_VOLUMENAME.CONTEXT\PATH. (Bug 203859)
2. Track changes to the password to help NetIdentity Client. (Bug 234371)
Fixes to NWGINA.DLL:
1. User profiles do not get deleted when in a Terminal Server/Citrix session. (Bug 221027)
2. Honor new Windows Server 2003 'WFDontAppendUserNameToProfile' policy (KB908011)". (Bug 229745)
3. Windows path truncated to 1024 bytes. (Bug 236932)
4. DLU Profiles being left on Terminal Server. (Bug 227305)
5. Default Domain User Profile does not work properly with versions of NWGINA after 8Jun2004. (Bug 154640)
6. User hive (NTUSER.DAT) always taken from server profile. See TID 3727742. (Bug 201459)
7. Roaming profile policy is not coming to the managed device. (Bug 230446)
8. Incorrect Policy Path setting. (Bug 222620)
9. Installing NSL 6.1 breaks ZENworks Desktop Management Dynamic Local User (DLU) login. (Bug 308031)
10. ZENworks Configuration Management (ZCM) login window appears with Workstation Only login. (Bug 301270)
11. Novell SecureLogin installation is not replacing the WIndows GINA when installed in LDAP GINA Mode. (Bug 288836)
12. C:\Documents and Settings\Novell Zenworks\DLU.tmp\ folders wont delete. (Bug 146308)
13. LocalLoginOnly not properly set when AutoAdminLogon is enabled. (Bug 289774)
14. PreserveDLUBinaryData registry entry does not work if "Use eDirectory Credentials" is not enabled. (Bug 275654)
This version of NWGINA.DLL and NOVNPNT.DLL together fix the following issue:
1. Application running as a service fails to login. (Bug 270056)
