NFS Gateway SP5 for NetWare 6.5 SP7 This Support Pack provides current enhancements and bug fixes for NFS Gateway. It also provides compatibility with NetWare 6.5 SP7. Previous releases or support packs of NFS Gateway will not function with NetWare 6.5 SP7.

Overview:

This Support Pack contains updates for all components of NFS Gateway for NetWare 6.5.

The purpose of this Support Pack is to provide a bundle of fixes that have all been tested together. These files have undergone component testing, core OS testing, and integration testing with other Novell products.

System Requirements:

NetWare 6.5 with Support Pack 7 already installed
NFS Gateway for NetWare 6.5 already installed

Installation:

To install NFS Gateway Support Pack 5:

1. Extract the n65gysp5.zip file to a temporary_location on the NetWare server.
2. Load NWCONFIG --> Product Options --> Install a product not listed --> ESC --> F3
3. Input the path temporary_location\n65gysp5

After installing NFS Gateway Support Pack 5:

If NFS Gateway volumes already exist on this server, but this is the first support pack applied since NFS Gateway SP1, run the migration utility, nfsgymig.nlm, for migrating the existing attribute shadow files to the new format.

Uninstalling:

To Un-install NFS Gateway Support Pack 5:

1. Load NWCONFIG --> Product Options --> Install a product not listed --> ESC --> F3
3. Input the path SYS:\SYSTEM\NFSGYSP5

Technical Information:

84227 - Changed default value for GYMOUNT -dirCompFreq to 30 (seconds). Previous default was 0, meaning the cache would only refresh upon time stamp changes, which could result in stale information.

177869 - Due to NSS change, had to adjust the procedure for moving a file (cut and paste) from one location to another, on the NFS Gateway volume.

196822 - Added the ability to configure which code page NFS Gateway is to use when communicating with the remote NFS Server. Previously, NFS Gateway would use the server's active code page. This is still the default.
New GYMOUNT option is: -codePage
Limited to code pages supported by LIBC.NLM.

246437 - Fixed an NFS Gateway abend that occurred when an iManager server attempts to manage a NFS Gateway server which houses a large number of NFS Gateway volumes (i.e. 100+ volumes).

272046 - Fixed an abend that occurs in COMN.NSS|COMN_DoResolveContextHandle, while using NFS Gateway.
